RDS Handgun Tool Kit

After sourcing various bits, tools, supplies from various sources, we decided to buy in quantity and put together our own tool kit for installing and working with pistol mounted optics. These are the same tools and items we use, teach and demonstrate with in our Red Dot Handgun Instructor Course, students wanted a one stop shop for their tools and supplies.  Building on our background in gunsmithing, armorer services, tool craft and testing multiple sources we are very pleased with the contents of this kit.  

We sourced the highest quality bits from German tool manufacturers, in the proper sizes and lengths to work with RDS sights. Smaller, standard bits often aren't able to seat all the way in the screw causing stripped screws. Speaking of screws, we also include spare screws in the common sizes for mounting the optic to the slide/plate, as well as upgraded screws for mounting the plates to the Glock MOS pocket. Tightening and removing screws is made more comfortable with the ergonomic Wera handle. This handle fits the hand well, is not over sized and allows control and precision when working with small screws. Insert the Fix It Sticks Torque Limiter to secure screws to the proper torque, 12 in/lbs, when used with thread locker.

Other supplies are the needle oiler and leak proof protective case, a leak proof flip top bottle for your degreasing solution, and a Sharpie blue paint marker for witness marks. Unique to our kit is the custom extractor tube gauges, using screws that are to long to mount the optic/plate can sometimes protrude in to the extractor tunnel. If the screws bind the extractor pistol stoppages are sure to occur. The gauge, two sizes included covering most every pistol on the market, can be inserted ensuring there is no binding or excessive screw issues. Everything comes in a Magpul DAKA pouch, in visible orange so it is easy to find in your range bag.
